Every now and then Van Gogh drawings appear on the art market. Sometimes they change hands frequently – especially when used as an investment vehicle – and sometimes drawings stay in an estate for several decades. The number of Van Goghs in private hands is steadily diminishing.  Especially the drawings from the Arles period (February 1888- May 1889), generally considered to be his best period, are very sought after.

In order to keep my Van Gogh database up-to-date for research purposes, I have followed the whereabouts of Van Gogh drawings in the past twenty-three years to the best of my ability. This includes following the international auction houses and major dealers represented at TEFAF in Maastricht.

If you want to receive a free e-mail notification when a Van Gogh drawing come up for sale, please feel free to contact me on info@vangoghdrawings.com.

Please note, I have no ties, financially or otherwise with auction houses, art dealers or any other commercial third parties. I am interested in locating all Van Gogh drawings are because it fascilitates my research. Your information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
